Gurgaon has more places selling handmade gifts than it has places making them. That is not a complaint — it is the single most useful thing to know before you spend ₹2,000 on something described as artisanal, and it takes about one question to find out which kind of shop you are standing in.

The question is: who made this one? Not is it handmade. Who made it.

How to tell handmade from resold

• Ask for a variation. A different colour, one more stem, a name on the card. A maker says yes and quotes you two extra days. A reseller says the stock is what it is.
• Look for the imperfection. Two of the same handmade object are never identical. If a shelf of twelve is identical, twelve of something were bought together.
• Ask how long one takes. Anyone who has made the thing answers in hours without pausing.
• Ask where it is made. A sector number is a good sign. “Imported” is a different business, and an honest one, but it is not this business.

Where to look in Gurgaon

Weekend markets and mall arcades. M3M IFC on Golf Course Extension, Cyber Hub, and the rotating weekend markets around Sector 29 and Galleria all run craft stalls. This is the only place you get to touch the thing before buying, which for anything handmade is worth a lot. Stalls move; check the venue’s social account the morning of.

Sector 14 and Sadar Bazaar. The old markets, for materials, fresh flowers and packaging. Excellent for raw supplies. Mostly not where finished handmade pieces come from.

Studios and home workshops. Most of Gurgaon’s actual makers work out of a flat and sell through Instagram, and they are the reason the city has a handmade scene at all. The trade-off is that you order ahead instead of walking out with it.

We are one of those. Sector 45, made to order, and everything on the site is twisted by hand from chenille wire — the material sold as pipe cleaners, which is a genuinely terrible name for it.

What “made to order” means for your timeline

It means nothing exists until you order it, which is the good part and the annoying part. Plan for 2–3 days to make, then 1–2 days across Delhi NCR. Five days from order to doorstep is the safe number inside the city; add two more if the date is fixed.

Anywhere else in India it is 3–5 days in transit instead. Shipping is a flat ₹49 either way.

What to expect to pay

• ₹399 — a hair clip, or a single flower on a card.
• ₹1,499 — a gift box with the flowers you choose.
• ₹1,899 — a bouquet with a plush moon and fairy lights through it.
• ₹2,999 — the large bouquet, 12+ stems, about 40cm across.

If someone in Gurgaon quotes you a third of that for the same object, it was not made here and it was not made by hand. That is not always a problem — it is only a problem if you are told otherwise.
